All aluminum and tin (steel) cans
used for food or beverage. CANS MUST BE RINSED CLEAN AND BE NO
LARGER THAN ONE GALLON IN SIZE. |
White and yellow coated cans or
cans with plastic or paper parts, empty aerosol cans, aluminum
trays and foil. These go to the landfill. |

IT IS
IMPORTANT THAT YOU RINSE, CLEAN AND DRAIN COMPLETELY ALL PLASTIC
THAT IS TO BE RECYCLED. ALSO, BE SURE TO REMOVE METAL OR
PLASTIC CAPS. |
#1 PETE: These have a seam down the side and a #1
symbol on the bottom of the container such as clear or colored
soda bottles, salad dressings and other jars. Remove caps.
#2 HDPE: Containers with narrow necks and a #2 symbol on the
bottom such as milk, water, juice, dishwasher liquid and detergent
containers. Remove caps. |
Any containers that indicate #2 compatible. Any
containers from automotive products such as oil and
antifreeze. Any containers where the opening is the same or
larger than the base (regardless of the symbol shown). Some
examples are: peanut butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, ice cream,
plastic bags, styrofoam, packing pellets, food trays, coffee cups,
shrink wrap and bottle caps. All these go to the landfill. |

Ceramics, coffee mugs, plates,
milk bottles, green, amber, red, blue, brown and clear empty
bottles, jars, pyrex, window glass and mirrors (glass only). |
Light bulbs, caps and lids which
all go to the landfill. |

Computer print out paper including green and white
lined computer paper, white and colored ledger paper, envelopes
with or without windows, FAX paper, "carbonless" carbon
paper, slick or glossy paper (includes soda and beer cartons),
manila folders, tab cards, office or direct mail, staples and
paper clipped paper, chipboard (cereal and cracker boxes, shoe
boxes, etc.), unwanted mail, mixed office papers, note paper, copy
paper, drawing paper and hard cover books with covers removed. |
Carbon paper, self-sealing envelopes, mylar, tyvek,
foil paper, metal, blue prints, plastic coated paper, tissue,
napkins, paper cups, paper plates, wax cardboard and paper ream
wrappers. |
